Story
In July 2026 I will attempt to swim across the English Channel. The swim is 33kms from England to France but due to the strong currents and tides it is likely to be a 50km swim 🏊♀️
This has been a goal I have been working towards over the past 3 years! As the swim approaches I have decided to fundraise for an Australian based charity, the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF). This charity grants funds to researchers who are passionate about all types of cancers.
Their work is really important, and I want to do what I can to support this charity, I would love it if you could make a donation to my fundraising page for cancer research. Your donation will encourage me to keep training and to also keep swimming when things get tough in the English Channel.
Having had cancer myself, I know the importance of cancer research to aide in the early detection, prevention and treatment of this disease.
Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media.
Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) create the world we want to see.
Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF)
At Australian Cancer Research Foundation, we know that only brilliant ideas can tackle something as big as cancer. That is why since 1984, we have given scientists the technology, equipment and infrastructure they need for pioneering research. From small vaccines to big machines our funding has supported some of the biggest outcomes in cancer research, across Australia.
Over the last 40 years, we have invested $184 million into 86 cancer research projects across 44 institutions.
ACRF supporters have backed landmark projects such as; the development of the world’s first cancer vaccine (for cervical cancer), the establishment of a precision medicine program working towards the goal of zero deaths from childhood cancer and the creation of the innovative MRI-Linac which will improve patient outcomes and reduce the trauma associated with radiation therapy. By funding research that seeks to progress and transform the way we prevent, detect and treat ALL cancers, we are committed to our vision of one day reaching a world without cancer.
